The Extension Art activity seeks to provide interested students with the opportunity to further extend their knowledge of art and their attendant skill base. The program is available to boys in Years 7 to 12 and is held during after-school workshops that are delivered by the School's Art teachers or outsourced experts.
Typical activities include photography (Photography Club), tonal drawing (Omega HB Society), and digital media (Digital Media Group). The courses usually run for four or five weeks during T erms 1, 2, 3 and 4 with exhibitions often held at the end of courses. Parents will be invited to see the work created.
Head of Art, Ms Angela McCormack, coordinates these activities.

Brisbane Grammar School Art Show 2020
Details will be available soon.
The Annual Art Show originally coincided with Foundation Day, with the date later moved to accompany the celebrations of Open Day. The Art Support Group has operated for over 50 years, raising funds for the development and maintenance of the School's art collection, which is displayed throughout the campus. The Art Show aims to enrich the cultural lives of students and the wider BGS community.
For more information and previews of available works, please visit the Instagram account @bgsartshow or Facebook page BGS Annual Art Show.
For more information about the Art Support Group, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The proceeds of the show support the Artist-in-Residence program, the procurement and maintenance of the School's art collection and help fund Art Department resources and projects. The proceeds are also used to support other departments at BGS such as Music and Drama.
