The basketball community is an enthusiastic group of boys who involve themselves in all aspects of the sport - playing, coaching, scoring and refereeing. It is played across all year levels in the School with boys in Years 5 – 12 playing in the GPS competition.

GPS games are played on Saturdays. Home games are played in the Indoor Sports Centre and, occasionally, other venues. The Indoor Sports Centre is the primary training venue. Coaches are drawn from teaching staff, Old Boys with the necessary expertise, and others who have an ability to make a superior contribution to the program.

The annual Basketball Camp is held in the June/July vacation period and focuses on individual skills, as well as attacking and defensive strategies.

Boys pay a one-off singlet levy which allows for the provision of a uniform for while they play at the School.

Basketball is supported by an active supporters group, the Hardwood Club, who assist primarily in the canteen on home days or on the scoring benches.

In season, further information including training times, squad lists, coaching panel and photographs is available to the BGS community on MyGrammar.
