BGS' extensive sporting program will give your boy the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports at a level commensurate with his ability.
The School is a proud member of the Great Public Schools (GPS) Association of Queensland. Boys in Years 5 – 12 compete in GPS competition in basketball, cricket, cross country, football, gymnastics, rugby union, swimming, tennis, and track & field. Boys in Years 7 - 12 compete in sailing and volleyball, while boys in Years 8 -12 compete in rowing. Click here to view the 2017 GPS sport seasons and championships dates.
To find out more about the GPS competition, including this season's GPS calendar and for maps of GPS schools' sports venues, go to the GPS Website.
Additional sports external to these association structures include fencing and Tae-Kwon Do Club.
While not compulsory, every boy is strongly encouraged to become involved in the sporting program by representing the School in a sport and also by supporting his mates, his year group and the wider Grammar sporting community.
Each sport is administered by a Director or Master-in-Charge, whilst coaching is delivered by a combination of teaching staff, Old Boys and outsourced experts where applicable.
