Tuckshop and Grammar Shop

P&F Auxiliary Update

The P&F Auxiliary remains focused on ensuring it is able to provide a supportive and responsive service to BGS families. The Tuckshop and the Grammar Shop remain open until the end of Term 1 to serve BGS families. However, there are changes to both shops necessitated by directives relating to COVID-19. These changes are detailed below, along with information on cash handling.

Tuckshop

The Tuckshop will remain open to serve staff and students on campus until the end of the School term or until the School is shut down. In response to COVID-19, safety guidelines strict social distancing and hygiene procedures are in place at the Tuckshop.

Grammar Shop

The Grammar Shop will remain open to students on campus until the end of the school term. However, if you or your son/s are unwell please do not come to the Grammar Shop; instead, call the shop staff on 07 3834 5347 to discuss your needs. Staff will happily take your order and payment by phone and/or arrange for collection or delivery of items on a case-by-case basis.

Winter Uniforms

Senior winter uniforms are to be worn from Tuesday 5 May 2020. All Senior School students (Years 9 to 12) will need a blazer and white shirts by this time. To maintain social distancing parameters of 1.5m, it is not appropriate for our staff to fit uniforms, but if a parent wishes to come to the shop and fit a student themselves please call Grammar Shop staff to make an appointment. It is anticipated this may only be necessary for Year 9 students or Senior School students who are new to the School and still do not have their school blazer or white school shirts.

Embroidery

For embroidery on blazer pockets, the yellow Awards form can be collected from the Cocurricular Office and provided to the Grammar Shop with the blazer. Blazers can still be submitted for embroidery. However, now that the 20 March deadline has passed, there can be no guarantee these blazers will be ready by 5 May. Every effort will be made to have them returned as soon as possible. Students with spare blazers can continue to bring embroidery requests to the Grammar Shop and they will be completed as soon as possible.

Please check MyGrammar/P&F Auxiliary/Uniforms/Embroidered item pick up list to know when your embroidered blazer, hat, cap or towel is ready for collection and/or payment at the Grammar Shop.

For more information regarding senior uniforms and embroidery, please do not hesitate to contact the Grammar Shop on 07 3834 5347.

Cash Handling

Due to the risks associated with cash handling at this time, the Tuckshop and Grammar Shop are now completely cash-free. The following arrangements are in place:

  • For the Grammar Shop, debit and credit cards can continue to be used in-store and families can also phone the shop on 07 3834 5347 to arrange for a credit to be placed on account for student use.
