The Life Skills Program is aimed at all boarders, but particularly those in years 5 to 10. We hope to arm them with everyday skills that boys of that age should be learning.
Topics are varied and include positive psychology (working with the boarders to assess their character strengths and using this as a basis for overcoming academic and social challenges that come with adolescence), through to the minutiae of growing up such as personal hygiene, ironing, sewing, organisation of personal space and much more. Skills for our older boys include more practical aspects, such as car maintenance.
Taught by experts from a variety of fields, the Life Skills Program will help fill in the gaps in their education that being away from home sometimes creates. The emphasis is on fun, but with genuine practical outcomes in every session.
