40 years since we were all at Brisbane Grammar School!
If it feels a bit difficult to get your head around join the club, saying it feels like yesterday just doesn't seem to cut it anymore. Those five years seemed so long and important at the time and now five years flies by in an instant. I often find myself measuring time in five year blocks rather than single years because 'that's how long I was at Grammar'.
Forty years seems to be a pretty fair span of time to celebrate life and catch up. Rather than us be a small part of the main annual reunion dinner, a group of us have arranged a standalone event as follows.
Date: Saturday 24 August
Venue: Customs House
Time: 7.30pm – 11.30pm
Dress: Smart casual
Tickets: $125.00
We have free reign at Customs House regarding music so if you have any requests for the playlist include them in your response to the invitation. There will also be microphones available for any live performances by those musicians (and comedians) amongst us. If you have any further ideas for the evening don't hesitate to put them forward.
Contact details have been obtained from the school and while every effort is being made to contact everyone, there are some of us without contact details. Please spread the word especially if you know anyone who may be more difficult to track down.

Looking forward to catching up on 40 years worth of stories from some of you, and a few weeks from some others.
For those interested in extending the reunion experience:
- a rugby match will be played at the school's Northgate oval during the afternoon. The match against Gregory Terrace starts at 2.15pm, and there will be post-game refreshments as well. We're hoping to organise a bus from the city, further details will follow once confirmed.
- the Annual BGS Golf Day is being held on Friday 23 August 2019, starting at 11.00am at Brisbane Golf Club. For further details, see the events page on the BGS website.
- The BGS Old Boys' Association Dinner will be held on Saturday 31 August at the Royal International Convention Centre. Guest speaker is Michael Ware '86.
