ORIENTATION Day yesterday proved to be a resounding success, with 380 new students welcomed to Grammar across Years 5-12.
Headmaster Anthony Micallef spoke in depth to parents, telling them he felt privileged they had chosen to enrol their child at BGS and assuring them the School took the role of educating their boys very seriously.
It was with a mixture of excitement and nerves that the newest BGS boys walked the School grounds for the first time yesterday.
New friends were made, some which will no doubt last a lifetime, as the boys look to make their mark on the School's history, which stretches back almost 150 years.
Many Grammar senior students were on hand to take the new students under their wing and ease their nerves.
While they were helping the students adjust, their 2015 School Captain Alester Fleming, gave a number of speeches to the parents of commencing students.
He spoke of his time so far at Grammar and told parents that their boys were certainly in good hands – whether it be in the classroom or participating in the long list of extracurricular opportunities.
