Excitement was in the air as almost 300 new students were welcomed to Brisbane Grammar School today.
During a number of addresses the boys and their parents heard from the Headmaster, Head of Middle School, Director of Outdoor Education, and School Captain in The Lilley Centre, as part of the Orientation Day program.
Headmaster Anthony Micallef said he was excited by students returning to campus this week. “There’s nothing teachers enjoy more than the chatter of students,” he said.
“Schools come to life when the boys return. Today’s orientation gives the School the opportunity to welcome its newest members and allows staff and student leaders the opportunity to assist the new boys to begin their transition to Brisbane Grammar School.”
Parents were also able to meet the BGS Senior Leadership Team, including the Headmaster, and others toured the campus.
Our new students were introduced to their prefects, and spent time around the campus and in classrooms. Others spent time in the uniform shop, donning the BGS uniform for the first time.
Best of luck to the newest members of the BGS community for 2016, and for the rest of your Grammar journey.
