At school he was a standout all-round sportsman, dominating in cricket, tennis, rowing, swimming, and athletics. After school he went on to play for the Wallabies, captaining in every Test he played. More on page 17. Lawton is joined by Victor Grenning who is also seated. He was a member of the Firsts rugby side for four years and Firsts cricket team for three years, and won the shooting championship in his senior year. More on page 36. Lawton and Grenning were both Rhodes Scholars.
