BGS Old Boys and Old Girls from BGGS came together in Singapore in November to reminisce about school days and share stories about their post-school experiences. The reunion proved a tremendous success, with Headmaster Anthony Micallef and Principal Jacinda Euler enjoying meeting alumni and sharing information about current school initiatives. Mr Micallef is pictured below with ’02 Old Boy Haruo Kikkawa.

Our Melbourne based Old Boys came together last month for a BGS reunion hosted by Steven Skala '72 at the Deutsche Bank boardroom. Attendees spanned an incredible 70 years, from 1944 graduate Geoff Caflisch to Allen Gu who graduated in 2014. Headmaster Anthony Micallef, Deputy Headmaster Ed Roper, and OBA President Stuart Rees attended, along with historian Helen Penrose, who shared some of her insights journeying back in time to research the School’s 150 year history.
In September BGS hosted members of the Class of 1955 for their 60 year reunion. The guests were treated to a light lunch and enjoyed a well-earned catch up. At the event Chairman of the Board of Trustees Howard Stack '62 shared insights into the future direction and priorities of the School.

The class of 1945 held their yearly get-together at the beginning of April. Sixteen Old Boys from this year group
enjoyed a lovely lunch with guests travelling from as far as Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
The Sydney reunion was held in late April and saw 52 attendees enjoying an evening of comraderie and networking on the Harbour with guest speaker BGS Head of History, Mr Chris Price entertaining the crowd on the recent publication Grammar at Gallipoli, which commemorates the 174 Old Boys who fought at Gallipoli in 1915.
Almost 50 enthusiastic 1987 Old Boys caught up for a casual reunion at Kingsleys Steak and Crabhouse restaurant
on Friday 5 June. During the evening they auctioned Neil Diamond tickets with proceeds of $600 going towards a needs based bursary. Thank you.
Thirty Old Boys were on hand to celebrate the BGS reunion in London early in July. The Old Boys' function, which included past students spanning from 1966 to 2013, met at the Caledonian Club in Belgravia. The event proved a resounding success, with many of the attendees choosing to prolong festivities at a quaint nearby establishment.
The evening was particularly rewarding for Headmaster Anthony Micallef, who reacquainted himself with members of his first English class at BGS. Rory Draper, Will Weedon and Dugald McNee were all students in Mr Micallef’s Year 10 class in 1993. Another highlight was the attendance of Chris Morton, current Trustee and all four of his sons – Doug, Fraser, Angus and Lachie – all BGS Old Boys.
