On Friday 12 August Brisbane Grammar School will host TEDxYouth@BGS – the School's inaugural TEDx event. The theme will be Moving Forward and the event will be student-driven, focusing on Year 12 students from BGS and Brisbane Girls Grammar School.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design – three areas collectively shaping the future. TED curates an annual conference to share ideas worth spreading and has a global audience. TEDx events are independently organised TED-like events aiming to generate meaningful conversations, inspire innovation locally, and share ideas worth spreading.
TEDxYouth@BGS will provide a platform where youth who are thinkers, visionaries and learners will be inspired and have the opportunity to inspire others. Those present will be learn from one another, and leave the event driven to creatively improve our collective future.
The format will be a series of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances on a wide range of subjects relating to Moving Forward. The theme can be interpreted in a variety of ways and will see speakers exploring topics from gender equality to Indigenous issues, among many other talking points.
TEDx events are recorded and available for viewing online by a large global audience. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
