BGS Foundation Day

On Friday 23 February this year, BGS Foundation Day 2018 will honour three pioneers of the School's past: our longest-serving and one of our most significant headmasters R. H. Roe; our first Rhodes Scholar A. S. Roe; and A. J. Mason who taught at BGS from 1889 to 1940. Each year these remarkable individuals are remembered through the awarding of Foundation Day scholarships in their name.

The event also provides an opportunity for current students to hear from an inspiring graduate. This year BGS Old Boy Scott Wharton '95 will, as guest speaker, explore his journey to the position of Executive General Manager, Strategy and Performance, Enterprise Services at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He is also a member of the Gender Diversity Committee and Indigenous Action Committee at CBA.

Prior to joining the CBA in 2016, Mr Wharton was Managing Director and Global Head of Enterprise Supply Chain for Citigroup in New York. He led a global organisation with team members in over 50 countries, providing operations, technology and risk solutions to Citi businesses.
