Brisbane Grammarians' Rowing Club Boat Naming Ceremony
Members, family and friends of the Brisbane Grammarians' Rowing Club came together on Saturday 19 August to witness a very significant event in the club's history, the naming of two eights and a coxless four.
These boats were named after people who have each made great contributions to the club in its nine years. Andrew Henderson, President of the Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys' Association (BGSOBA) who helped create the Brisbane Grammarians' Rowing Club; Allan Craft, a past Grammarians' President, past Captain of Boats and past committee member; and Greg Carroll, a past President, past committee member and coach.
Since the boat naming ceremony the club has been successful in tendering for a new pair. I would like to thank Chris Austin and the BGSOBA Committee in agreeing to a loan agreement, which has enabled the club to complete its fleet strategy program years ahead of time.
