The annual Old Boys' Jim Taylor Memorial Cricket Match marks the commencement of our senior cricketers' preparation for the upcoming GPS First XI Competition. This year's match will be again played at the BGS' main Spring Hill campus, on Tuesday 13 November 2018.
This annual event provides an opportunity for Old Boys to stay in touch with the School and its cricket program and to reflect on the significant contribution made to the game of cricket and to BGS by long-serving Master, Jim Taylor. A feature of the afternoon is the presentation of the trophy to the victor by Jim's daughter, Michelle.
While the Old Boys will field a line-up spanning five decades, they will need all their experience to overcome the skill and enthusiasm of their younger opponents.
In this the School's sesquicentenary year, the Old Boys' Association has commissioned a commemorative playing strip for the Old Boy participants. I welcome all Old Boys with interest in this annual match to attend and witness what is always an enjoyable celebration of the BGS cricket program.
