The Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys’ Association (BGSOBA) was founded in 1898. The BGSOBA seeks to foster a continued sense of belonging to the BGS community, with all the social, networking and contributory opportunities inherent in that bond.All former students of the School are automatically members of the BGSOBA, however OBA Life Membership, which carries certain privileges and benefits, is available on application and payment of a once-only subscription.The conduit for the BGSOBA is the School’s Community Relations Officer, who works closely with the BGSOBA to provide a focus for all BGS Old Boys who choose to maintain an abiding connection with the School’s history and future.The BGSOBA facilitate a number of Old Boy events and reunions on local, regional, interstate and international levels. The signature event is the BGSOBA Annual Reunion Dinner held each year, this event is coordinated by the BGSOBA to welcome all Old Boys to reunite with their peers, however also includes special arrangements for celebrating the annual 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 year milestones.
When you become a member of the BGSOBA, you will receive a certificate of acknowledgement, an OBA Tie (if purchased with your Life Membership) and you will be eligible for special discounts and incentives exclusive to Life Members. Your membership fee helps to support the OBA aims which are to:• provide fellowship for members• support the School’s aims and objectives• offer guidance and leadership to present and past students• endorse projects aimed at developing the overall school community• carry forward the School’s heritage.As an OBA Life Member you will be recognised in the Brisbane Grammar community as committing your support of the OBA’s aims and objectives.If you would like to sign up for Life Membership, please click here.
