It is with much pleasure that I welcome you to the Parents and Friends’ Auxiliary, a major sub-committee of the School’s Parents and Friends’ Association. All current Brisbane Grammar School parents are members of the P&F Auxiliary. All Auxiliary Committee positions are elected and take effect from the Annual General Meeting held in March each year.
The P&F Auxiliary Committee is comprised of 28 designated roles which combine to facilitate not only the fundraising aspect of the P&F, but to foster parent fellowships and the general sense of community that abounds at BGS.
A particularly important role of the Auxiliary is to operate the Grammar Shop and Tuckshop throughout the year, as a service to boys and their parents.
Managed purely by volunteer parents, the funds raised from the shops are returned to the School by way of project funding for the benefit of the boys, both current and future.
As a parent, being involved as a volunteer is a worthwhile undertaking; a meaningful way to meet others and enjoy your journey as part of the BGS community. Parent volunteers are a vital component of the Auxiliary and the School’s support network.
The Auxiliary happily organises a number of social events for parents throughout the year; be it our casual morning teas, the magnificent Annual Luncheon or simply a coffee morning. Your attendance is always most welcome. In addition to these activities, we provide a valuable service to parents by way of contact representatives for each Year Level. You are encouraged to contact your boys’ Year Level Parent Representative for any information regarding a social event you may like to attend.
We invite you to take an active role in the Auxiliary. We are sure that your experience as part of the BGS community will be rewarding. We look forward to meeting you.
The President of the P&F Auxiliary is Julie Farr
