    Painting by Old Boy E. Colclough 1936

    ​​This 1936 pencil drawing, Quarries, River Terrace, Kangaroo Point, was the work of Old Boy Edward Colclough, (BGS 1880-1882) a renowned watercolourist who became a trustee of the Queensland National Art Gallery, established in 1895. ‘Ned’ Colclough began his rowing career at Brisbane Grammar School in 1880. He was a superb oarsman and in 1891 rowed with the Queensland crew that won the national title. He rowed seven times for the state.​​
