    War Memorial Library Opening Ceremony
    ​The official opening of the War Memorial Library by the Right Honourable Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Matthew Nathan, Governor of Queensland, on Armistice Day, 11 November 1924 is commemorated in this detailed program. Proceedings included a prayer, a two-minute silence, and dedication by Sir Matthew Nathan. Headmaster Frederick Sydney Napier Bousfield spoke of the importance of school memorials, and Old Boy and architect, John Barr (BGS 1887-1888) made a speech about the architecture of the War Memorial Library. The foundation stone was laid on Anzac Day, 25 April 1923.​
