Monday 10 May 2021
The BGS Art Support Group is proud to announce Old Boy Campbell Jones '16 as the winner of the 2021 Emerging Artist Award. Campbell receives $1,000 prize money towards his @bgsartshow exhibition.
Campbell is inspired by the power of art to create conversation, provide meaning and transfer information. He is interested in networks and structures, specifically the way in which they transfer information and shape our ways of seeing. Campbell received many accolades for his works during his time at BGS. He won the 2015 Outstanding Artist for the Senior Art Exhibition and in 2016 received an honourable mention in Creative Generations.
The breadth and depth of Campbell’s works can be seen on his Instagram page @jnzo_online.
You will have chance to own one of his wonderful pieces when he exhibits at the @bgsartshow next month.

New kiln donation for the BGS Art Department
Wednesday 10 March 2021
The Art Support Group recently approved funding for a new kiln for the ceramics program. Studio ceramics is the main focus of Years 5 and 8 Visual Arts, and the Ceramic Club is a popular Middle School Cocurricular activity. Years 11 and 12 students who choose clay as the media for their bodies of work will also benefit.
The new kiln will be installed from April 2021 and it will also be accommodated in the new STEAM precinct.
