Employment at Brisbane Grammar School
The Brisbane Grammar School culture is defined by the values of endeavour, respect, learning, leadership and community. These values are modelled by staff and create an open and inclusive culture that celebrates effort and achievement at all levels.
BGS staff make a difference – from the teaching staff who challenge and support our boys to the professional staff who create and maintain a positive working and learning environment.
BGS employs over 200 people in teaching, administration, ICT, building and grounds, kitchen and cleaning. All staff play a valuable role to enable the School to deliver its three core programs – Academic, Student Wellbeing and Cocurricular.
BGS is proud of the highly qualified teaching staff the School attracts and retains. The majority of BGS teachers are subject specialists, with Middle School Core Teachers teaching across two subject departments.
New staff undertake comprehensive induction and professional mentoring, with ongoing professional learning opportunities. Several teaching staff have attended International Boys' School Coalition conferences held overseas, where the School's research findings have been presented. External academic researchers in pedagogy, psychology, literacy and learning space design lead staff professional learning sessions and provide advice to the School.
The School is committed to the wellbeing and safety of students in our care. All staff have a responsibility for student wellbeing and protection from harm.
Brisbane Grammar School is an equal opportunity employer.
