Former Australian Test and ODI bowlers Ryan Harris and Nathan Hauritz have joined the BGS Cricket program as specialist coaches.
Harris was one of the leading fast bowlers for Australia, with an average and strike rate with the ball that compares to some of the best bowlers of all time. Since retiring in 2015, he went on to be a high-performance coach with the Australian team. An off-spin bowler, Hauritz took almost 130 wickets for Australia before retiring in 2016.
The pair played together in Australian colours and bring a wealth of experience to their coaching roles at BGS.
BGS Cricket Director Trevor Irvine said BGS boys looked forward to their sessions with Harris and Hauritz each week.
“It has been great having both of these former Test cricketers working with our boys during the season,” he said. “Not only is their technical knowledge second-to-none, but they are also helping our boys prepare mentally for varying match situations.”
