Queen’s President
BGS Old Boy Gregor Stewart ’18 has been elected by his peers as President of the Queen's College Student Club for 2021. Founded in 1887, Queen’s is a residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne. It has been home to many BGS Old Boys over the years. Gregor will head a 250-member student club, overseeing student subcommittees and budgets to plan and deliver social, cultural, sporting and academic activities.
Rugby Success
Congratulations to BGS Old Boy Fraser McReight ’16 who was named in an extended Wallabies squad. The 21-year-old former Junior Wallabies captain enjoyed an outstanding season for the Reds, helping them to the Super Rugby AU final.

Blanket Innovation
BGS Old Boy Wyatt Westmoreland ’14 has teamed with friend Ed Hodge to launch a business selling infrared sauna blankets online. Since May they have sold 1.25 million blankets to customers in Australia, the US, the UK and Canada. The blankets are much like a sleeping bag that you can plug in. With traditional saunas impacted by COVID restrictions, the portable blankets have proved popular.
Short Film
Early in 2020, BGS Old Boy Emlyn Allen ’03 joined director Marcus Haney and a crew on a musical journey across America. They aimed to help a musician pave their way to the spotlight. Watch Chart Your Course – The Musical Journey of Cas Haley, Emlyn’s first short film here.
