Two Brisbane Grammar School educators have been recognised for their exceptional contributions to the teaching profession through the prestigious Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) awards. 

Director of Student Wellbeing Programs, Ms Philippa Douglas has been honoured with the Excellence in Educational Leadership Award, recognising a remarkable career dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and advocating for educational leadership at the highest standard.  

The award celebrates Philippa’s commitment to the teaching profession, as well as her exemplary practice and commitment to educational excellence at BGS.  

Assistant Head of English, Mr Jeffrey Lewis has received the Emerging Educational Leadership Award in recognition of his rising influence and dedication within the field.  

Awarded for his consistent commitment to excellence in educational leadership, Jeffery’s approach supports and inspires others in accordance with the values of the teaching profession and the Australian professional standards. 

Executive Director of Educational Innovation, Jacqui Zervos, congratulated her colleagues, sharing, “We are incredibly proud of Philippa and Jeffrey for their inspiring leadership and the positive impact they have made in our school and the wider community.  

Their achievements exemplify the spirit of innovation and commitment that drives educational excellence at BGS. These awards are not only well-deserved but also serve as an inspiration to colleagues

The ACEL teacher awards continue to shine a spotlight on those who raise the bar in education, and this year’s recipients serve as exceptional role models for educators.
