Big John in all his glory. Standing almost 30 metres tall, the tree was a cornerstone of the Outdoor Education experience from 1987 until the early 2000s. The activity involved harnessing together 15 boys with rope, who would scale the tree in a circular fashion to reach the top and descend down again. It was the ultimate problem-solving, team building and fear-conquering exercise.
