BGS Art Support Group

The BGS Art Support Group (ASG) is a parent volunteer group that connects art lovers across the BGS community. It’s for BGS parents (past and present) and alumni that have an interest in Art and supporting the School’s Art program. The ASG has been operating for more than 50 years.

The Art Support Group organises the annual BGS Art Show and Gala Evening which accompanies the celebrations of  BGS Open Day. The ASG also provides assistance with setting up BGS student exhibitions and supports the School’s art teachers as required. The Group comes together throughout the year for artist talks, art appreciation and to attend exhibitions at GOMA, Queensland Art Gallery etc.

The ASG raises funds for the School’s Emerging Artist scholarships, the development and maintenance of the School's art collection, a wide range of art clubs, as well as funding for key art resources and projects led by the BGS Art Department.

Parents and alumni are welcome to join the ASG for outings and art appreciation (without having to volunteer) however the Group is always grateful for the assistance of its members with the organisation of the BGS Art Show.
