Brisbane Grammar School wishes to advise that Professor Doune Macdonald has resigned from the Board of Trustees, effective 30 June 2025. We extend our deepest gratitude for her 13 and a half years of outstanding service, commitment and visionary leadership as a volunteer and Trustee.
Doune’s resignation was precipitated by her recent appointment as Acting Chair of the Queensland Curriculum Assessment Authority.
Throughout her time on the Board, Doune was Chair of the Education Committee, governing the academic program and professional development of BGS teachers.
Beyond her contributions to policy and strategy, Doune brought to the Board a wealth of academic expertise and a deep commitment to equity and excellence in education. Her distinguished career at The University of Queensland, including as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), has been marked by national recognition and peer-reviewed authorship, and has influenced strong relationships between the School and the University.
We thank Doune for her dedication to Brisbane Grammar School and wish her every success in her future endeavours.
