Boys build the confidence and resilience here that allows them to tackle life’s challenges.

Brisbane Grammar School's Outdoor Education Centre is located on the shores of Lake Moogerah, southwest of Brisbane.

An appreciation of nature and Indigenous culture is a focus of the Outdoor Education program.

The local Traditional Owners, the Ugarapul people, have given permission for boys to learn their stories.

These stories encourage boys to appreciate the natural world and the importance of Australia's heritage.

Pepperina Hill is the official name for the School's main campus at Moogerah.

Facilities include:

  • 35-bed student accommodation
  • Commercial kitchen and dining room
  • Games and recreation areas
  • Canoe and kayak fleet
  • Two artificial climbing walls
  • High and low vertical challenge ropes courses
  • Flying fox
  • Staff accommodation

Nearby on School-owned property is Bitenbar – the local Indigenous name for Pulpit Rock. Bitenbar enriches the bushwalking, rock climbing and camping experiences for our students. Pulpit Rock is an imposing volcanic plug where students can connect with nature and cultural stories. At the properties lower cliffs, students take on rock climbing challenges under the supervision of our experienced Outdoor Education team.

Bitenbar is the School's 400-acre satellite campground, a short drive or hike from Pepperina Hill, comprising:

  • three expedition campsites
  • emergency shelter
  • natural rock climbing and abseiling site
  • bushwalking access to the Teviot Range and Moogerah Peaks National Park

CAUTION: Bitenbar (Pulpit Rock) is situated at Lot 181, Lake Moogerah Road, Moogerah on private property owned by Brisbane Grammar School since 2017.  Please be advised that access to and climbing of Pulpit Rock is prohibited.

The School accepts no liability for any accident, injury or death that may occur. Anyone who illegally enters the property does so at their own risk and will be committing an offence under Queensland law.
