Why Choose a BGS Education?
For more than 155 years, Brisbane Grammar School has balanced tradition with innovation in the pursuit of excellence. Our culture celebrates effort, and our teachers encourage each boy to achieve his personal best.
A BGS education is built on three core programs: Academic, Cocurricular and Student Wellbeing. This holistic approach nurtures character, develops individual talent, and fosters a sense of leadership, curiosity, community, and a love of lifelong learning.
While honouring our legacy, we remain committed to equipping students with skills in critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and communicating with confidence.
Educational Innovation
Over four years, we immersed our education leaders in strategic planning to create our own culture and infrastructure for supporting holistic learner development. Known as Effective Thinking Cultures (ETC), this school-wide project optimises the learning of each student.

School Family
We are an inclusive community, where students from diverse backgrounds combine to live the School's values of learning, leadership, endeavor, respect and community.
Every boy is given a place to belong and an opportunity to excel. Our broad liberal education, combined with extensive Cocurricular and Student Wellbeing programs, provides every boy with the grounding to take on diverse careers.

There is a work ethic, a humility and competitive attitude which boys from rural centres bring to the school and in our experience, it is an attitude which is absolutely infectious.
