Libraries

Digital technology may be changing how people access information, but BGS boys still love to pick up a physical book. In an age defined by connectivity and global collaboration, today's library has evolved into something more akin to a community space where students gather and share their enjoyment of various interests.

Brisbane Grammar School provides three libraries: the Middle School Library for Years 5 and 6, the Centenary Library for Years 7 and 8 and the Senior Library for Years 9 to 12. Each is a community hub hosting engaging activities and events.

The Middle School Library is a welcoming and lively space where boys new to BGS often gravitate to find their feet, while the Centenary Library is a much-loved social space for older Middle School boys.

The Senior Library has an academic focus and is a popular collaboration space where older boys work on assignments, complete homework, research and study.

All three libraries foster a culture of reading through providing age-appropriate resources and programs that develop students' literacy and foster a love of books and a strong reading culture.

BGS Libraries empower and transform learners by facilitating opportunities for critical thinking, meaningful creation of knowledge and deeper understanding of complex world issues.
